A community advocate and spiritual leader has answered the call of God and is taking charge to create effective change in her community.
This woman of God is Tammy Watts, an Evangelist, a mother, and pillar for at-risk youth. As a wife & mother of three, Tammy experienced the challenges of raising a young African American Male-Son in Society Today. It was those challenges and lack of support services that compelled her to do more for other mothers who are confronted with the same issues. Tammy is raising awareness locally on social issues adolescent African American males face and the partial and often unjust judicial system that impact the lives of black juveniles.
This mom is on a mission to educate Young Mothers on how they can be effective parents and personal advocates, to get informed about societal issues affecting their sons and youth as a whole, through organizing community events. These events include Public Speaking, Mother Social Circles, Volunteerism, and Networking with other public service centers and Faith-Based Organizations. Through her services, she is encouraging Young Moms in education, continued education, job fairs/seminars, personal finance, health, parenting sessions, prayer, and devotional studies.
Through your participation, you will gain insight from experienced professionals, community leaders, and other MOMS who have experienced the same challenges. Mom’s On’ a Mission to reach out and organize mothers. The goal is to provide supportive measures for Young Mothers who are raising at-risk youth. In addition, provide a community platform for mothers to network and aid each other through the adolescent years of parenthood. The old proverb still rings true today; it takes a village to raise a child!
Yet hear the word of the Lord, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and everyone her neighbor lamentation.
For death is come up into our windows, and is entered into or palaces, to cut off the children from without, and the young men from the streets.
Jeremiah 9:20-21
